Cruden Bay Golf Course

Located on the east coast, north of Aberdeen, the Championship course at Cruden Bay Golf Club provides old fashioned links golf at its best. Set against the backdrop of the North Sea, this most demanding of courses requires power, placement and fine judgement. An inspirational golf course, regarded by many as a masterpiece Cruden Bay winds its way in a figure of eight through towering dunes. There are panoramic sea views, a stunning beach, blind drives and back to back par 3’s. In 2015 the club was presented with the Scottish Golf Tourism Award for the top course in Scotland.


Royal Aberdeen Golf Club

Founded in 1780, making it the sixth oldest club in the world, the club has two superb courses. The Balgownie Links is generally recognised as one of the truest links anywhere in golf.  Set over rugged and natural coastal terrain and always maintained in superb condition, Royal Aberdeen is a classic out and back Scottish links with narrow and rumpled fairways, sloping greens, testing run – off areas and perilous bunkers. The course includes a great selection of holes demanding power, precision or both. Regardless of the conditions, this demanding but rewarding test is an absolute treat.


Carnoustie Golf Links

As host course for the 2018 Open Championship, Carnoustie Championship course makes a strong claim to presenting the sternest test of golf in the country and is arguably the toughest on The Open rota. The layout demands length, accuracy, careful strategy and a delicate touch. Avoid the numerous bunkers, out of bounds and the Barry Burn and you will enjoy a hugely rewarding experience


Monifieth Golf Links


The Medal Course at Monifieth is very highly rated and a ‘must play’ for golf fanatics It was here at Monifieth in 1975 where five time Open Champion Tom Watson first experienced playing links golf. The Medal Course has a reputation as a hard, uncompromising challenge, bounded on one side by the main rail line to the north. Large, fast, firm and true greens together with clever bunkering are the hallmarks of this fine links.


Murcar Links Golf Club

Founded in 1909, Murcar Links is located right next door to Royal Aberdeen. It is a beautifully rugged course featuring huge sand dunes, crumpled fairways, burns and heather. The numerous elevated tees provide magnificent views across the North Sea and south to the city of Aberdeen. Murcar is a seriously challenging course and when the wind blows can easily become an absolute brute.It is tremendous fun and a must play for any keen golfer on a visit to Aberdeenshire.


Montrose Golf Links

The 1562 course at Montrose Golf Links is undoubtedly one of the oldest and most historic in Scotland, with golf having been played here for more than 400 years.The course encapsulates the true traditions of Scottish links golf courses.Crisp springy turf, imposing dunes, whins, deep bunkers, tall wavy grass and fantastic fast greens combine to ensure an excellent test of anyone’s golf ability.


Panmure Golf Club

Located in Barry, just 2 miles from Carnoustie, Panmure dates back to 1845 when the club leased land owned by Lord Panmure in nearby Monifieth. The R&A has employed Panmure as a qualifying course for The Open six times; most recently in 2007. Historically it has provided the toughest challenge of the area’s qualifying venues. Panmure is an understated, handsome and distinguished inland links that should form an essential part of any itinerary when playing golf in this area of Scotland.


Fraserburgh Golf Club

The 7th oldest golf club in the world. Located in the most north-easterly town in Aberdeenshire, Fraserburgh Golf Club’s Corbin Hill course was largely designed by James Braid in 1922, resulting in one of the most natural and traditional Scottish links layouts. The position of this fine links exposes the course  to the bracing wind coming off both the Moray Firth and the North Sea.


Trump International Golf Links

Putting the political controversies surrounding the club’s ownership and the planning/construction process, this Martin Hawtree designed links is simply magnificent. Located between Cruden Bay and Murcar on a 3 mile stretch of coastline to the north of Aberdeen, the fairways are framed by massive dunes. The course conditioning, customer service and attention to detail is first class.
